Episode 24 - Why Mosquito Buzzes

Wonderful series!
My grandson absolutely loves the Tinga Tinga collection. "Why Elephant Has a Trunk" is one of his favorites. He has watched it so many times he says the words WITH the characters and he's only two! Beautiful illustrations... so colorful and the stories are wonderful. Just the right combination to keep a child interested. Well done... looking forward to buying more... although it was difficult finding a venue to purchase in the United States. Thank you Amazon for carrying it!

Love it
My kids love this show, short enough to fill spaces when I need to get stuff done but long enough to entertain them. We love the show

Tinga Tinga Tales
Great show! My children love it and I love the lessons that are learned. The singing is wonderful and the colors are so vibrant.

Heceta Head Lighthouse

Great Bit of Oregon History
This video begins with a detailed description of the actual light and it's mechanics then expands from there. I will never take the old light house lights for granted again. There are lots of interesting old pictures both inside and out of the light house and the light house keepers house. Pictures and names of many of the residents and locals and info on some of their noteworthy accomplishments. Little known facts and photos detailing some of the aspects of their lives in the early 1900's. There is also discussion and more old photos depicting several other areas of life back in the day. Besides the horse and buggy pictures, I enjoyed seeing photos of early construction equipment and the discussion of the trials and tribulations of travel in the area one hundred years ago. Having previously lived in Oregon I also really enjoyed seeing the places I used to know. The tunnel construction pictures brought back memories of how years later people used to honk their car horns while they...

Pat Cooper Live - You're Always Yelling

Seen him live so many times- nothing new here.
Love Pat Cooper and have loved him since I was a little girl and my relatives played his comedy albums on their stereos!

Now flash forward to adulthood and yes, I still love Pat Cooper. He is a mix of laughter, nostalgia and my own family memories.

But gauging the age of this video, versus the last few times I saw him live?

I can see he is recycling his material big time. It shows in this video and it shows in his live performances.

This man appeals to Italians/Sicilians for the most part.

If you are not Italian/Sicilian but married into a family of such, you will get the humor, too.

However, if you have seen him live in the last 5 yrs- skip this- unless you never get tired of hearing his repertoire of jokes.

Again- loveable guy- and a very talented comedian even if his main genre is Italian humor.

But if he produces another video of his stand up act, it really needs new material...

All the King's Men

SPECIAL BRANCH SEASON 3 (INSTANT VIDEO) - A VERY ENJOYABLE SERIES
SPECIAL BRANCH is an enjoyable, low key (by today's standards) British police drama that aired from '69-'74. George Sewell stars as "Det. Chief Inspector Alan Craven" who is member of the anti-terrorism/espionage department of the London Metropolitan Police with it's key emphasis on National Security. There's more psychological intrique to the series than emphasis on graphic violence and as a result, the scripting plays itself out at a nice measured pace.

The episode "YOU WON'T REMEMBER ME" opens with a couple at an (undisclosed) upscale jewelry store purchasing an engagement ring - unaware that the Special Branch has them under heavy 24 surveillance. The woman becomes increasingly suspicious when she sees Craven observing her outside a laundromat and remembers seeing him at the jewelry store, and hurries away to a phone booth where Craven is waiting to pick her up for questioning. When asked about her fiance's occupation - and she cannot answer (because she does not...

Vampire Dog

Family Friendly Fare That Lacks Much Bite: A Cute Premise That's Never Fully Explored
I guess I need to be wary of movies that use the word "dog" in their titles, it just might represent truth in advertising! What do you think about when you hear "Vampire Dog?" Right away, I conjured dozens of wacky sight gags, silly puns, and ridiculous spoofs. Just the notion of this dog having vampiric tendencies (even comical ones) opens up a myriad of mental images and potentially humorous situations. The problem with "Vampire Dog" is that its screenplay is so lazy, it never makes a convincing argument that Fang (the doggie in question, voiced by Norm MacDonald) is supernatural or even special. It cracks wise, to be sure, but is never particularly funny. What makes it a vampire exactly? Apparently it's very old, comes from Transylvania, moves like lightning, and consumes red jelly (this is actually Jello, but I guess they couldn't afford brand royalties). That's the back story of Fang in a nutshell.

Fang is taken in by an awkward youth (Collin MacKechnie). The primary...

Fun movie!
I have an 8-year-old who just loves this movie. It's entertaining and funny in an age-appropriate way. No blood or violence. The "vampire" dog needs cherry jelly to survive! Cute.

Nothing Original
The title was unique. I will give someone credit for that much. However once the movie starts its the same story we have all seen before, a by the number children's movie without an original bone in its body.
